Welcome to Planning Pretty! I am Camille Simmons, founder, creative director, stylist, photographer, DIYer, baker you name it! This is a one-woman show dedicated to sharing beautiful accessible ideas for women everywhere. I’m here to help newlyweds, fresh college grads, stay at home moms or career girls wanting to squeeze in a little domestic bliss. My goal is to help you believe the lifestyle you want at home is obtainable, effortless and just a few steps away.

I grew up in Los Angeles, lived in Oakland with my wonderful husband and adorable yorkie for three years and now we’re back in LA.  I have a massive obsession with pretty dishes and fresh flowers. You can always find an open cookbook or décor magazine on my desk. My favorite color is not pink, believe it or not, but I do enjoy having rosy shades around. I dream of living in Paris and travel every chance I get.

I studied Psychology, Italian and Film at Harvard before getting engaged and starting my diverse creative career. I worked in film, TV, pastry arts, and digital marketing. Planning my DIY wedding led me to Pinterest and sparked my interest in the lifestyle world. After reading Joy Cho’s Blog, Inc in October 2012, I felt inspired to create my own site. Planning Pretty was born November 5, 2012.

I showcase our home décor, DIY projects, recipes, parties and travels plus advice to inspire anyone to take pride in their home life. Being a young married millennial puts me in an interesting niche, but no matter where you are in life, heartfelt décor is happiness for the soul. Injecting your personality, comfort, and treasured trinkets into your home makes life so much sweeter.
