Hello everyone! The holiday season is here. I’ve been busy making fresh eucalyptus wreaths at the shop and holiday decorating. Being at the shop around so many products has actually made me want simplicity at home. I like to keep my dining table set even when we aren’t using it. I love the light that hits the table at certain points in the day. I’m always looking for interesting dining pieces to mix with my vintage collection and favorites from the shop. I found a few new pieces from the Better Homes and Gardens Collection at Walmart that compliment our style and entertaining needs. We love to host friends and family for casual occasions and its nice to have lots of functional serveware on hand.
It’s December! I swear this year just blew by. To realize that it’s already the last month, stunned me a little bit this morning. December is my favorite month though. I love all the holiday decor, it’s my mom’s birthday month and we get to celebrate New Year’s Eve. I even like all the snowy photos on Instagram since I’m in LA and we have none. This my first holiday season at the shop too! I redecorated with ornaments, winter table setting and lots of pine cones. I’m hunting for a little tree for the shop and my window is filled with bottle brush trees. I also have new holiday products in the shop that are perfect for holiday entertaining and hostess gifts. So I wanted to share a little holiday gift guide of my favorite picks from the shop!
Any of these would be great as a for a party host, your mom, best friend, or sister-in-law. Here’s the full list from the guide show above:
I hope that helps you with your holiday shopping lists! I wanted to include items at a range of price points for any budget. Plus it’s great to mix and match some of the items. The baking trio of the apron, spoons and recipe box are a lovely set. The pineapple shaker and Kate Spade etiquette book are lovely pair too. Don’t see something that fits, check the online shop for the perfect gift!
Hi everyone! I hope the fall season has brought lots of joy and cozy moments. I started spending every morning drinking a hot cup of tea and sitting on our little balcony. Surprisingly we have falling leaves and it almost feels like we have seasons! With that said, Thanksgiving is next week and we’re all a little behind getting ready. Hey it’s been a tough month (election…), but I have a new feature on Rue Magazine that will surely help. I am sharing my tips for decorating the table, keeping a calm mind and enjoying everything Thanksgiving has to offer. Check out the full photoshoot and my interviewhere.
A few people have asked where I found the pink chairs featured in the shoot. They were a wonderful random find at Worldmarket. The plates and linens are from my shop, available online and in store! The gold flatware was found at Target a while back but they still carry the set for $20.
Also I’m teaching a holiday wreath workshop at Wild Child Party on December 1st! It’s going to be a fun night of learning, crafting and getting into the holiday spirit. I hope to see some of you there.
In case you missed the announcement on social media, I’m happy to announce the online shop is live! I opened the Planning Pretty Table + Flora flagship store in Long Beach, CA this past summer. Once I built up enough inventory it was time to launch the online site. I know a lot of people start the other way around, but I came across a good location in my neighborhood and didn’t want it to lose it.
The online shop ships nationwide! I curated my favorites in glassware, dishes, and small decor accessories. I’m continuing to grow the inventory (holiday products are on their way soon!) and add beautiful pieces for any home.
I hope you enjoy browsing the products in the online shop! If you see something you love and it’s low in stock or sold out, just send me an email. If available, I can special order for any occasion!
Hi everyone! If you’re following along on social media then you know Planning Pretty launched a brick & mortar shop in Long Beach, CA this summer! Being busy in the shop has made me appreciate the time I spend at home even more. There’s nothing like coming home after being on my feet arranging flowers and getting to lounge around. My early morning trips to the LA flower market leave me exhausted right around dinner time. Sometimes I just need a moment to rest, sip a little cocktail or glass of wine while my husband and I chat about our days. He loves to relax by cooking and our living room is just a little too far away from the kitchen. There was an empty space in our dining room and I thought it would be perfect to add a mini lounge! That way one of can sit and still have a conversation with the other in the kitchen. I’m excited to debut our new dining room lounge with the help of pieces from Better Homes & Gardens collection. The update was quick and the result is quite charming!
We started by adding the accent chair. Our grey floors are one of our favorite things about this apartment and I love adding grey accents in our decor. My husband loves wingback chairs and this modern version with a touch of farmhouse chic is perfect. He will enjoy many a glass of bourbon sitting here!
I love the gold pillows in the Better Homes & Gardens collection, like this goldmetallic pillow. We also have the heart gold foil pillow in our living room reading chair, so each corner compliments each other. It’s a cozy chair, but still firm enough to sit up and have a proper conversation.
The lounge completely faces away from the distracting TV and we have a nice bluetooth speaker to enjoy music. Plus there’s the huge window that brings in tons of natural light and a nice view of our neighbors trees. I added one of our gold mirrors and an art print framed in the white picture frame.
I moved one of our end tables next to the chair, perfect for flowers and little treats. Our little yorkie loves laying on faux sheepskin rugs or pillows, so I added a rug for her to lounge on too.
We’re really happy with the dining room lounge! It’s the first thing you see when you enter the apartment and I’m sure it will make a great first impression with our guests. I look forward to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the morning to start my day and a glass of wine to end.
