Dining Room Reveal

Dining room before & after The dining chairs are done!  I have to admit that I handed off the task to my husband this weekend, but I did measure and cut everything for him.  It’s a dramatic difference in our dining area and really the whole apartment.  We needed contrast, badly, and the peacock blue was the perfect solution!

In addition to the peacock blue makeover, we moved our striped rug to dining room to give it more of a glamorous feel.  Our champagne glitter chargers and classic china collection makes the space sparkle.  And I can’t forget the true inspiration behind our glamour inspired decor, Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly canvas!

I’m planning to make a glitter animal for each place setting, the perfect little place holder.

At the moment, I really enjoy not having any linens on the table.  Seeing the rug and blue chairs through the table is a very cool effect.  Our design efforts get to stand out and not be hidden by a giant piece of fabric!

I can’t wait to host a small dinner party!  I am still planning to add a few more elements to the space, maybe something on each side of the china cabinet.

Now, I actually have to start covering the space in Valentine’s decor for romantic dinner at home.  We debated going out to dinner, but really want a relaxing evening with no hassle.  So say tuned for my DIY Valentine’s Day decor later this week!

Thanks Christie, the see-through affect really is nice! Our dog sometimes eats her dinner underneath while we eat. It’s so cute!
