Favorite Tools for Planning

Did you make a ton of resolutions, but are unsure how to stay organized and maintain them?  Today I wanted to share my favorite tools for organizing in the new year!  It’s so common to get off track, but if you have the right stuff to keep you motivated and stress free, planning will be so much easier!

The first thing I do every morning is sit down with a cup of tea and my day planner.  I chose a diary format planner so that I have a full page for each day of the year.  Moleskin makes a wonderful collection of planners and even Passion Journals (my husband uses one to chronicle all his beer discoveries). If you’re inspired to start a new hobby (like cooking, travel or chocolate) these are perfect! Yes, chocolate can be a hobby!

Style Journal from Moleskin, $20

If you don’t have one already, a classic wall or desk calendar is a great for big picture planning like tracking birthdays, bills and vacations.

I also use a handful of special notepads to keep track of shopping lists and meal planning.  The “All Out Of” grocery list comes in handy for planning dinner parties too! Having these extra tools makes it so much easier to plan when to grocery shop versus go out to eat!

Mini Goals Notepad from Paper Source, $7. “All Out Of” list from Pier One Imports, $7. Weekly Meal Planning from Anthropologie, $10.

Plus, it’s always great to have a couple notebooks handy when ideas or inspiration pop up.  Typo has some of my favorite notebooks online or in-store (I’ve been to both the Torrance and San Francisco locations).

A great cork board always comes in handy when planning anything. Stylish push pins make it even more fun!

What are your favorite tools for getting organized and planning for the new year?  Any favorite apps? I love Evernote! All my notes and ideas saved on all three devices. Piece of cake.

I love my moleskin notebook! I got a plain squared one and I’ve been turning it into a planner for my blog! I have some pages where I just take notes, but I have several pages where I’ve drawn each month and I can write in what I want to post about! It’s the best way I’ve found to get do whatever I want without being bogged down by the organization already set by a planner.

However, I do have a new favorite, and it would be the Day Designer by Whitney English. I didn’t get one for this year, but I’m hoping to snag one for next year!

Just checked out the Whitney’s Day Designer! I want one of these too but is it possible to have too many planners lol?? I’ve always been addicted to notebooks & organizers.

Oh, I’m addicted to anything like this. I love pens, markers, all kinds of stuff. So, I don’t think you can have too many!
