Dining Room Makeover

Dining room makeover

My husband and I are in the process of giving our dining room upgrade.  Really it’s the space between our kitchen and living room but it’s where we eat all of our meals.  Our dining chairs were given to us by my husband’s aunt.  I love that they look like French bistro chairs!  I think a pop of peacock blue is just what the space needs! Ultimately we’re going for a modern glamour space.  You’ll see once we find all of the pieces!

Upholstery materials

My tools: fabric scissors, ruler, measuring tape, hammer, philips screw driver and upholstery tacks

I spent most of the day on the floor figuring out how to get the old fabric off then how to get the new fabric on!  Once I got the hang of things, it wasn’t too bad.  Rip off the old, nail on new.

And then my husband comes home and makes it all look ridiculously easy.  Either way it’s taking longer than we thought so I can’t debut the whole set just set.

So it’s a work in progress.  Turns out it’s not something I can complete in one afternoon.  We’ll have it done probably tomorrow.  I’m debating table linens because I love seeing the rug through the glass table.  What do you guys think? I’ll have photos of the completed space soon!

I love that color! Are you adding a rug (perhaps in the peacock blue) under the table? With glass tables, I go for no linens, or perhaps merely placemats at mealtime so it retains its glamour.

I moved our striped rug from our living room to the dining room! It looks so much better with the audrey canvas. I have gorgeous champagne glitter chargers for each place setting that I found at Pier 1 Imports!
