A happy environment makes a happy person. A beautiful and personal home has the power to transform the worst of days.
As a psych major, I was very interested in the way we strive so hard to be happy. I always felt that a happy home was a pretty good start. This not only means positive relationships, but also it’s appearance. Coming home to a clean organized home is so relaxing. Seeing trinkets and photographs of past memories also add to your happiness.
When I first started Planning Pretty, I wasn’t sure exactly where it would lead me. And then it hit me. I like to make people happy and although that can be dangerous if not monitored closely, it’s great motivation to help others. When I took a moment to think about what I have to offer to help, it’s creating happy homes.
It will be six months tomorrow that I started this blog. I love giving advice, tips and examples of how to create a happy home. I don’t think it should cost a fortune, because everyone can do that. There are simple ways to reach this goal and I am happy to help!

totally agree – we recently moved and in between work and travel, haven’t had a second to get organized in our new place. putting out some new pillows and a rug this week made me feel the calmest i’ve felt since we moved in!
110% agree! I was talking to someone the other day about the moment of excitement before you have guests over – your house is super clean, you are ready to entertain – that is one of my favorite moments and feelings.
It makes such a difference! When we moved to SF last year I wanted to get all the boxes out of our home and decor in.
It’s an instant way to relax! Coming home to messy house is not fun. Or if it’s not decorated the way you like, you feel anxious to fix it!
Congrats on your 6-month anniversary. I really enjoy your blog!

Karen thank you very much! I’m happy that you enjoy it means a lot :) Can’t believe six-months passed already!
I know there is a direct correlation with my home’s cleanliness and my stress level. That’s a big one for me. And congrats on six months! You’re doing a great job :)
Thanks Emily! Time is flying by! And yes I force my husband to help clean up before we leave because I don’t want to come back to a messy house :)
